Ever since Zack started his MBA program, date nights have become very special. I work at home and am usually by myself (with the pups of course) most of the time. He has class from early in the morning and usually events late at night. When he gets home we shovel down some food and he’s back at it with homework and applying for internships.
We used to go out to eat all the time during the week and especially on weekends, but we just don’t have the time to do that consistently anymore. Now when he says he’s taking me on a date it’s treat! I take a little more time in picking out what I wear AND sometimes even do my hair 😂
This simple black top has the sweetest little neckline and sleeve details! I picked it up from my local Ross for $7.99! WHATTT crazy right? I love wearing black, but I like my black tops to have a little bit of sass to them: lace details, ruffles, interesting silhouettes, or peplums. Since I can’t link my top I linked some super pretty options in the widget below for you to shop! Most of them are perfect for a fall date night 🙂
I am so very proud of Zack for all the work he has put into this program so far. He’s the hardest working man I know and I know it’s because he wants to make a difference and I have no doubt that he will. There have been sacrifices made by both of us and there will continue to be, but I have full faith that the Lord has a plan and that this will be 110% worth after the 2 years!
Well if it isn’t Monday again… this weekend was a whirlwind! This past Saturday was well-spent with friends and family for both my husband’s and our little one year old niece’s birthdays. Squeezing two different birthday parties made for a very long (and tiring) day, but it was so worth it! Yesterday, I don’t think I moved from the couch and I am okay with that. I definitely needed a day to rest and catch up on Reign. Is anyone else obsessed with that show!? Just me? OK cool.
I really need to stop buying black and white stripes, but we all know that’s impossible! Big and bold stripes are my favorite for pattern mixing, but for this outfit I kept it really simple. This super soft tee with these boyfriend fit cutoffs is a perfect easy outfit to throw on for the weekend. So funny story about these particular cutoffs…I can never seem to find loose fitting shorts that are long enough for my liking so I actually ended up DIYing these. I wanted the “ONETeaspoon look” ( you know what I’m talking about….the denim diaper 😉 )without the lack of material and without the steep price. I ended up purchasing these shorts from Charlotte Russe 2 whole sizes bigger than I normally buy and cuffing the outside seams. This makes the shorts so flattering!
I sure hope this week goes by quickly…Zack starts his MBA program orientation this week so I will have to get used to being at home by myself again! Have a good week, xo!
There is something about a little blue and white striped top that makes me feel all the summer feels. This darling striped dolly top is one of my current favorites in my closet. I love the feminine details in the flutter sleeves, crocheted lace, and ruffle waist. The silhouette is so flattering and the fit is so forgiving (hello endless chips and salsa date nights). This top would also look great with white jeans and is the perfect mix of casual and dressy! It was so popular that it sold out quickly, but I have linked very similar styles I am loving below that you can shop.
My purse is one of my very favorite new bags! It’s the perfect size – big enough to hold my 27 lipsticks, but small enough to take out on the town. These PAIGE jeans literally fit like a glove and never lose their shape. If I had to choose one thing to splurge on in your closet it would be denim!
Last week, I shared everything you need to know to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that is going LIVE this Thursday. I will be waking up extra early to give you a peak at all of my first-glance favorites. Make sure to check back here for updates throughout the sale.
The Fourth of July is always a holiday that seems to creep up on me. Especially this year! Zack and I just moved to a new city and celebrating in a big way has been the last thing on my mind!
As a family, we have always celebrated holidays like this in a simple way. We would grill out and just spend time together and this year will be no different. This weekend is supposed to be rainy so I think a couple of quiet nights at home will be just what we need. My parents are also coming to visit our new home this weekend and we are going to explore downtown Athens. There is so many great shopping places to browse and delicious places to eat! We are already so in love with our new home!
I’ve rounded up a few of my online picks and that blue striped one-shoulder top is now sold out, but I love THIS ONE too! Most items are under $60 and most are on major sale for the weekend so snag them while you can!
