All through middle and high school, there was one trend I managed to completely avoid. If you know me, you know I love a good trend and rarely knock it before I try it. But there was one pair of shoes that I said you’d never catch me in…..
In the early 2000s every girl owned a pair of Uggs……except this girl. I personally thought they looked like giant cardboard boxes on your feet but to each their own. You would think the trend would fade out like the matching velour jumpsuits and giant hoop earrings that also doubled as bracelets (oh wait those are a thing again).
I can remember the moment vividly when I stumbled upon a pair of Uggs that I didn’t hate. In fact, I was obsessed with them! I found them at a local outlet mall last year and have not been able to find them since. If I was going to buy a pair of Uggs, they had to be a little unique so these were perfect for me!
Sadly, in order to find this exact style you may have to scour Ebay but I did find a very similar pair that folds down like mine. I wear them with more than just leggings and a giant sweatshirt – I wear them with jeans, to Pure Barre, the grocery store, with faux leather leggings…the possibilities have really been endless!
When most people thing “Uggs” they think the original tall style, but they have really stepped up their game with different, fun styles! I love this pair with the bow and this leather pair for a more polished look. I linked all my fave picks below (lots are on sale!)
Do you remember the story behind your first pair of Uggs? I won’t judge you too hard if you bought them just because you saw Britney Spears or Paris Hilton with a pair 🙂
